The assesment of medical students consited of professional examinations administered by the university at the end of an academic year and continous assesment administered throughout the year within the medical college. The continous assesment constitutes of 10% of the final assesment in the professional exams.
Tutorials, Continous Assesment Tests (during the terms) and Term Examinations (at the end of each term) are all considered to complete the continous assesment score for inclusion in the professional examination results at the end of each year.
Additionally continous assesment also constitutes eligibility requirement for sitting in the professional examination at the end of an academic year.
Different types of testing formats are employed. These include A-type multiple choice questions (MCQs), structured essay questions (SEQs), viva-voce and practical examination.
