The Section of Biochemistry is committed to providing an academic program of high quality that is comparable to international standards and motivates the students to learn the basic concepts of Biochemistry and their application to medicine.

We have highly qualified and experienced faculty with expertise in Molecular Biology and Nutritional Biochemistry. We have a PCR lab which has state of the art equipment. Dr. Raheel Qamar, the Research Director at Shifa College of Medicine, is in-charge of this lab. He has a number of post-graduate students who are engaged in active research.

We have a sectional library which has a large number of books and journals in Biochemistry and Nutrition.
