About Section of Pharmacology
     
Pharmacology is taught in the 3rd year of Medical College and 2nd Professional, MBBS, university exam is held at the end of 3rd year. Learning hours are 300, which are divided into lectures 100 hrs and Practical/Small Group Learning 200 hrs.
The ultimate aim of pharmacology teaching is to induce in students the capability of providing service to patients in a competent and human manner.
 
Objectives
  •  Acquisition  of  knowledge
  •  Ability to extend  and improve that knowledge
  •  Apply their knowledge effectively in evaluation of drugs in the services of patient's health.
Goal
  • To learn basic concepts in drug use.
  • To avoid overload of information.
  • To expose the students to representative drugs from major classes.
  • To give stress on the drugs needed more in relation to community's health problems.
  • To produce such students who should demonstrate the application of such basic concepts on the use of drugs in a clinical situation
