Department of Forensic Medicine
According to an old definition forensic medicine, sometimes, called legal medicine is the application of medical findings in legal affairs and different ethical issues involved with the practice of medicine.

As doctor’s medical activity is embedded in the current laws, medical students must be informed about the legal norms affecting them, and especially about the legal basis of the doctor patient relationship. Beyond the personal care for the patient, practicing doctors are compelled by laws and regulations to fulfill a number of other duties.

Inside the morgue the sign reads “let the dead teach the living”. It serves to remind us of our mission to identify victims and help families find closure in the tragedies of disasters both on individual and mass levels.

21st century is the time when it becomes apparent that latest forensic applications must be used in the course of an investigation or discovery process, digital forensic experts must be employed to carefully gather pertinent evidence. Forensic applications such as DNA finger printing, dactylography, electron scintigraphy etc is the dogma of such investigations.

Our mission is to provide forensic medical and scientific services, research and teaching, whereas our vision is to provide impartial opinions, expert training and research to a world wide standard.
